Pastor James Skorzewski has been on the ministerial staff at St. Marcus since October of 2002. He began his ministry in mission in Miami, Florida. He loved the cross-cultural opportunities that Miami brought, however, he missed working in an urban setting. He received his call to St. Marcus while serving Cross of Life Lutheran Church in Miami.

Pastor Skorzewski was born in Clare, Michigan. He is the oldest of three children. After attending Michigan Lutheran Seminary in New Saginaw, Michigan, he continued his studies for the pastoral ministry at Northwestern College, Watertown, Wisconsin (Class of 1994), and at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, Mequon, Wisconsin (Class of 1998).

Pastor Skorzewski is married to Janinne (Rhodes) who is a native of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. They actually met at St. Marcus. They have three children: Abigail, Megan and Jackson.

At St. Marcus Pastor Skorzewski is the primary preacher for Sunday evening worship and teaches 7th and 8th grade Catechism in the school. One of Pastor Skorzewski’s primary goals is to share Jesus with the unchurched families of St. Marcus Lutheran School. He does this by building a bridge between the school and the church.
